The Bill also alters the representation on the board. The Town Clerk -reported that a copy of the Bill had been sent to the borough solicitor, who was watching the proceedings. A deputation from the Petone Sea Scouts waited upon the council. The spokesman (Dr. J. T. Harding) asked -for exemption from the payment of the. rent of tho boathouse (£1 Is) next year. He also requested the council to dump some spoil i front of the boathouse to re-torm the skidway, which had been washed away. Dr. Harding mentioned that since the formation o£ the troop the boys had rescued fourteen people from the harbour and only last month had been of great assistance when the steamer Tees broke loose from the Petone Wharf. ..'..-.
