MR. GREEN'S ALLEGATIONS
COMMITTEE EXONERATED
CANBEBBA, Bth August. '. The allegations of bribery, against Mr. Coleman, the chairman, and members of the Federal Public Account* Committee, arising out of their inquiry into the compensation claims for: A class broadcasting stations, have npt been sustained. Judge Dethridge, who investigated the allegations mad© by Mr. Boland Green, M.P., completely exonerates the committee, also Major .W. T. Conner, formerly manager of 3LO station, Melbourne. ■ ■ -, ;■•..- .-.'■
Mr. Seullin stated in the House of Representatives that Mr. Roland Green,: MJP., who was a member of the Public Works Committee, had informed him that every member- of that committee, - except Mr. Green himself, bad accepted a bribe from an unnamed man who desired a decision in favour of the A class broadcasting stations in a claim for compensation from the Government following the taking over of these stations. Later a Royal Commission was appointed to inquire into the allegations.
