The session of the Federal ,Parlia« m'ent, which has been one of the most strenuous in history, has ended. A motion in the Senate that its amendments to the Arbitration Bill ba not insisted on was defeated. A conference between the Senate and House of Representatives resulted in a> compromise with regard to contentious clauses in tho Bill. The Bill, as amended, was passed by the House of Representatives and also agreed to by tho Senate. NO SALARY SEDUCTION. The Senate, by 14 votes to 4, in th» early hours of the morning, decided t« request that a statutory measure bs introduced to provide for a reduction of 10 per cent, in the salaries of Ministers and members of the Federal Parliament, also of members of the Public.
