SLACKNESS ALLEGED
MINISTERS' CORRESPONDENCE
Slackness on the part of some of the Ministers of the Crown in replying to correspondence, was alleged by the Hpn. W. Downie Stewart (Keform, Dunedin West) in tho House of Representatives yesterday.
He said that some of the Ministers were very prompt in their replies, but others were not, ana answers had been received weeks after a request had been made. It was the usual practice for a Minister to acknowledge a letter immediately after it had been received, stating that tho question raised was under consideration, and to give a definite reply after the matter had been investigated. When a member raised a question on behalf of constituents he was placed in an awkward situation when acknowledgments were delayed.
