TRAMWAY DELAY
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—The tram track-laying workmen aye at present engaged in'Whitmofe street and have all the plant handy for an overdue job—the linking of Featherston street with' Lambton quay lines past the telephone exchange. If this was done and a turning loop made near Lambton Station, the hourly hold-up of Thorndon-bound ears at Lambton "shunt" would be avoided. Surely this is an overdue and com-mon-sense alteration; and, as it could be fitted in with the new station scheme, it would be quite defensible. Then cars for Thorndon could run right through without delay and trolley-pole changing (with risk to conductors) would be avoided.— I am, etc.,
DELAYED.
