WHARF TOLL CHARGE
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —The explanation by the Harbour Board of the reason for exacting 3d to I; is surely somewhat thin. From wh came the demand for better control u\ wharves —the shipping companies or the Wellington Harbour Board officials? 1 do not remember any public request or any newspaper report of the matter. Anyway it does not pay, and vre have the police and other officials to keep order, so why not abolish the charge and please the public?—l am, etc., . TRAVELLER.
