A SERIOUS BREACH
WRONG ENTRY IN WAGES BOOK
"I am not able to look lightly on a case where an employer has over a period made a wrong entry in the wages book," said Mr. E. Page, S.M., in tho Magistrate's Court this' morning, when fining Frank Wells £10 on a charge of this nature.
Mr, Mountjoy said that the defendant paid a worker 35s per week, whereas, according to the award, the wages should have beeu £2 Is. The entry in the wages book, however, showed £2 la. Mr. Mountjoy said that such a breach of the award was looked upon as being very serious. For a further breach of the award the defendant was fined £1.
