The Prime Minister (the Hon. 3. W. Eoibes) left last night for Cheviot. He will letum on Wednesday morning. Lieut.-Coloticl L. H. Jardine, D.S.O.', M.C., has relinquished the command of the Ist Battalion, Taranaki Regiment, and has been tiansfened to the reserve of officers. Major G. F. Bertrand succeeds him.
The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle) left this morning for Napier. He expects to return to Wellington on Tuesday evening. , t Councillor S. Blackley , was granted-1 six months' leave of absence at yesterday's meeting of the Hutt County Council. Mr. Blackley left Teceutly for England. ,
Mr. Adrian Kinross White, the 17----year-old son of Mr. W. Kinross White, of Omaranui, who is a student of Wa-, nganui College, has been notified that ho has passed successfully and Tvitli honours the recent examination testa carried out at Longlands aerodrome, and that he has qualified for an "A" pilot's certificate. Mr. Adrian Kinross White is probably the youngest pilot in tL Dominion.
