BOXING.
The box plan for the Richards v. Stone tournament, to be held on Thursday next, opened this morning, and judging iroin the demand for scats followers of the sport will attend in full force. This will be the Australian's first appearance in New Zealand, and his performances in Australia entitle him to be regarded as one o£ the best welterweights seen here for many years. The original intention was to match him first with Trowern, but difhciilties arose over terms, and the association selected Stone to fill the position.
