A CHILDREN'S PARTY

A very1 enjoyable children's plain and fancy dress party was held in tho Te Aro infant school, Tho Terrace, on Saturday afternoon. Thero was a large gathering of children from the. three To Aro schools, as well as many parents and friends. Over a hundred children were in fancy dress, and the judges (Mrs. M'Cartie and Mrs. M. Martin) had no easy task to select the winners of the different sections. Some of the winners were as follow:—Big girls: Most original, Ella Babbagc; prettiest, Novma Remraers; best carved out, Doris Flavell; funniest, Mavis Williams; special, Velma Martin. Big boys: Most original, Errol j Wood; best carried out, Freil Harris funniest, Stanley Keenan; special, Graham Perry. Among the infants wero littlo Pat Oliver, Mclva Dorney, Thelma Critchley, Phylis Boyd, and Loriia- JHavel Special prizes wero. awarded to Trevor Eemmers and Brian Ashbriclge. The .winners in the pairs were Phylis Young and Vedias Eemmers, Kathleen Mason and Eileen Gorgenson; infant pairs, Ralph Wilkins and June Wilkins, Allan BabbagG and Dorothy Wilson, Nancy Coull and Joan Killeen. A number of the girls from the Willis street school gave a very pleasing littlo entertainment, with dances, musical items, and recitations. Afternoon tea and cool drinks were served in one of- the class-rooms, and were, enjoyed by all. The arrangements wero in tho hands of. tho social committee of the To. Aro School Association, which deserved great, credit for the success achieved.-
