THE M.C.C. TOUR

FINANCIAL STATEMENT

A summaiy of the financial position resulting from the M.C.C. team's tour of New Zealand was presented by Mr. D. E. Wanklyn at a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council this evening.

1 Receipts were as follows: Guarantees, C2G25; cash from Australia, £3574; lirst Test, £4SG; second Test, £740; third Test, £82; fourth Test, £704. Expenses were as follow: Tour m New Zealand, £4942; in Australia, £1133; first Test. £237; second Test, £93; third and fourth. £399; total, £0803, leaving a net surplus of £1407. • Mr. Wanklyn announced • also that the amount of £381 income tax charged in Australia h.id been remitted. ~,,,, Under an agreement with tho M.UU the surplus must be devoted to recompensing the M.C.C. for payment ol the professionals with the team.
