Commenting on the new leader, the "Christchurch Times" (United) says: f"He will bring to his work the capacity for continued effort, a strong desiro to serve his native land, and sound judgment based on a wide knowledge of the political development of the country. With a man at the head of the Administration who has been throughout his public career an advocate of sane progress, the next chapter of our history as a people should be one of interest and importance. In succeeding to the position vacated by Sir Joseph Ward, Mr. Forbes must carry on a great tradition. lie has been called to high office, and those who know the sterling qualities of the man w.ill be confident that he will fill it wjfth credit to himself and honour to the Dominion." :
