REPORT"

SYDNEY, 21st May.

Tho reporF of Sir Douglas Mawson. on the Australian and New Zealand Antarctic, research expedition saya that it can be- definitely asserted that off th# coast of Enderby Land .there exists a very valuable whale fishery.

"It would appear that the Norwegian exploring vessel Norvegia located this whaling ground simultaneously •with, ourselves, and from that fishery millions of pounds' worth of products trill bo recovered in tlj: next'few years.'?

The report adds that - exhaustive hydrological data have been secured. About a thousand deep seas soundings were recorded, while biological studies were continued throughout tho cruise on an extensive scale.

Tho report also deals with the experiences in the pack ice, after which Sir. Douglas Mawson states that he charted a new area which he designated Maeßobertson Land, together with, lands further west, known as Kemp Land and Enderby Land, tho wh«*le of which bus been claimed for the Crown.
