BOXING.
The popular welterweight, Hancock, will be making his first appearance in Wellington on Monday next, when he will be seen in action against Trowern, who is considered to be the best in his class at present in the Dominion. The two have met twice previously, the first time at Sydney during' Trowern's visit to Australia, when the New Zeakmder was the winner, and the second time- at Dunedin, when the position was reversed, a decision that caused no end of comment at the ringside. A third meetings should therefore be of more than ordinary interest. There will be the usual four amateur preliminaries among selected boys. The box plan opens on Wednesday morning.
