CANADIAN WRESTLER

TO-MORROW NIGHT'S MATCH

A policeman "in Auckland named Elliott is a wrestler George Walker, the heavyweieht champion of Canada, considers shows a great deal of promise. JMliott is- a natural wrestler," Walker told a "Post" representative this morning, and I consider that with some coaching he would be worthy of being sent to the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932. Walker, who arrived in Wellington last evening from Auckland, where he has been residing for the past nine months, started his wrestling career at the age o£ 16, and when 19 years of age he wrestled before the King as an amateur. He turned professional at 23, and has since met some of the greatest wrestlers in the world, including Stanislaus Zbysco and George Steelier, who was recently defeated by "Strangler" Lewis for the world's title. The Canadian is to meet Ramzon Khan, one of India's leading wrestlers, in the Town Hall to-morrow night. The match was to have taken place on 13th April, but it had to be postponed until to-mor-row owing to ■ Walker suffering from a poisoned leg. However, the big Canadian is now lit and well again, and to-morrow night he may take the mat at a little over his usual weight of 13st. Walker and Khan will give exhibitions at the Central Fire Station to-night, the Indian at 8 o'clock and Walker at 8.30.
