KARORI AFFAIRS
A meeting of the executive of the Karori Progressive Association was heia last week, the president, Mr. W. Simm, being in the chair. It. was reported that arrangements are being made with the Wellington Town Planner to visit the suburb to give members ox the committee an opportunity of consulting with him regarding Karori's future progress. The campaign for the collection of the £300 required by the City Council for the swimming bath is progressing satisfactorily. A final effort is now to be made to raise the balance of £50 required, and the. association would appreciate donations from residents of the district who have not yet been approached. The attention of the council is to be drawn to Birdwood street, Duthio street, ana Braithwaite' street, which, owing to thr heavy bus and othor traffic, particularly require attention. Beauehamp street is another street which was reported on; also the dangerous state of Donald street to school children, owing to the absence of a. footpath. Tlio resignation of tho secrotary, Mr. L. A. Tracy, was accepted with regret.
