MATCH AGAINST WAIRARAPA

The M.C.O> team resumed their first
innings against Wairarapa this mornii|g in perfect weather. Turnbull added tt single to his overnight score when facing the bowling of Massey. Several singles followed, the score mounting to 80. The Wairarapa fielding was again distinguished by keenness. Bowley became aggressive and only smart fielding prevented several boundaries. Massey was bo.wling a good length, and few runs were being added. Bowley was almost stumped when he was 64. With a single Bowley brought the M.C.C. score to 100 after 85 minutes.
When 26 Turnbull was given out ibw. Two for 134. Earle joined Bowley, and sent Hoar to. the pavilion for four. Wairarapa's first innings total was ,passed both batsmen scoring freely all round the wicket. The 150 was reached in 112 minutes. A few minutes later Bowley leached the hundred, taking 117 minutes. Bowley, after a fine display for 124 in 135 minutes, waa given out Ibw. Wcolley joined Earle, and lftter Blamires got Earle's wicket. Four wickets for 214. Allom was next man. At the luncheon adjournment; the score wag 225 for four wickets —Woolley, not out, 9; Allom, not out, 1. •'
