OFFICERS ELECTED

At the last meeting of the Board of Directors of the Wellington V.M.C.A. the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. Will J. Mason; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. C. South and E. P. Hay; hon. treasurer, Mr. M. Morrison; hon. recording secretary, Mr. D. G. M'lvor; chairman of house committee, Mr. A. G. Ballinger; finance and administration coinmitte'e, Messrs. Will J. Mason, H. C. i South, E. P. Hay, P. E. Pattrick, G. H. Scott, A. G. Ballinger, M. Morrison. The report of the general secretary, Mr. Len. J. Greenberg, shows that an all-round programme is being carried out, and that keen interest is being maintained in the various activities of the association. The total financial membership stands at 920. In addition 52 boys from the Child Welfare . department aro catered for by the "Big Brother" movement, and nearly 200 young women and girls use the gymnasium regularly for physical culture. A life-saving class has just been started. A lively interest in the work of the boys' division manifested itself at the recent father and son banquet, at which over two hundred fathers and sons were present. For the older members the Optimists' Club and the Literary and Debating Society continue to hold" most successful meetings, whilst intimate relations are maintained with the Inter-Bible-Class Council recently established in the city. Generally speaking, the work of the association is now on a very sound basis.
