ANOTHER FIRE AT EASTBOURNE
A fire which broke out r.t about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon ■ completely destroyed the seven-roomed residence of Mr. C. A llarquis, general manager of the Temperance and General Insurance Company, at 29, Oroua street,. Rona. Bay. The house was unoccupied at the time, and the fire the cause of which is.not known, had a strong hold when it was discovered, with the result that not even the contents of the house could be saved. the remains mt s were found in the ruins. : 1 here was a strong" northerly blowing and had it not been for the fact that there was a vacant section in between, it is probable that the adjoining house on the southern side would also have been burnt, it was badly scorched, as was the house on the northern side, -which the Eastbourne Jure Brigade protected with chemicals. ....
