CLERK OF PARLIAMENTS
MR, E. W. KANE APPOINTED
The appointment is announced of Mr. Edward "William Kane, Clerk of the House of Representatives, to the position of Clerk of Parliaments and Clerk of the Legislative Council in succession to the late Mr. A. F. Lowe. C.M.G.
Born in Wellington, Mr. Kane is a son of the late Mr. Henry Russell Kane. He was educated in this city, and after studying law for a while, joined the Parliamentary staff in 1886. He occupied various positions in the Legislative Department until he was appointed Clerk of the House of Representatives in 1920, following the apipointment of the late Mr. Lowe as Clerk of Parliaments.
