Wiren, one of Wellington's keenest followers of the game, has an excellent knowledge, and the address which he has agreed to give at the next meeting of the Wellington Umpires' Association should be of great interest to players, past and present, and to all other enthusiasts. Many events of note will be dealt with by Mr. Wiren, and these will bring in the deeds of wellknown players of other days. The meeting is open to all followers of the game, and will be held in the Wellington Chess Club rooms, Courtenay placed on Wednesday night.
