CANADA'S MOURNING
THE LATE HON. J. A. ROBB
AN HONEST POLITICIAN
VANCOUVER, 13 th Nov. There is widespread mourning in Canada for the late Hon. J. A. Robb, Minister of Finance. No one in Canada 'i> public life enjoyed quite the same popularity. He was a Liberal, and was the Government's greatest personal asset. He sat in Parliament for twenty years, and was never defeated at the polls. He had reduced the Budget Speech to forty minutes, whereas it used to be a six hours' effort. He was so vigorously honest that ho stood- in a class by himself. No one ever had a harsh thing to say about him.
