The offer of Mr. L. 0. H. Tripp of a prize for an essay competition in primary schools in the subject of birds was yesterday accepted with thanks by the Education Board. The competition, said Mr. C. H. Nicholls, also had the endorsement of the Wellington School Committees' Association.
"While thousands of spectators at the air circus at Cleveland (Ohio) held their breath, a small biplane flew up from the field and hooked itself beneath the U.S. Navy dirigible Los Angeles, which was also in full flight A passenger on tho dirigiblo then" climbed down into tho 'plane, which was unhooked from the airship and circled down to the ground with its passenger. Thia is believed to be the first time 'in the history of aviation that this feat has been accomplished.
