PIGEON RACING
J/ ? tone Hon™g Club flew their last week-end race'from Whangarei, an air line distance of 380 miles. The birds were taken care of and liberated by Mr Pickering. Owing to heavy rain on Saturday they were not liberated till early Sunday mornmg, and having a stiff southerly flay Tl' tT - Vel'° n°an'ivals on the daj.lhe following are the positions and the times the first birds arrived on the second day:—P. Mested's r.c.c. No 85 1026, 7.50-7 a.m., 1; P. Mexted's b.c n' JMo. 687, 1923, 7.56-58 a.m., 2; W Smith's" blk. c Black Duko, 7.5747 a.m!, 3? C Carters b.c.h. Peggy, 8.3-17 a.m, 4; J. -Boltons b.c.c. Sun Yen, 8.14-20 5- C Carter's r.c.c. Honour, S.lO-57, 6. 'Next baturday's race will be flown from Opua.
