DICKENS-SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY
A most successful first meeting of the Dickens-Shakespeare Society was held last night at the Dickensiau Rendezvous, Druids' Chambers. Mr. • Clement May kindly consented to fill the office of president, and was most helpful and encouraging i* his suggestions. A secretary and organising committee were also elected. The idea of the society is to revive and stimulate interest in the works of the two great English masters, and with this object in view, it hopes to commemorate the Dickens anniversary in February next in an active manner, either by pageant or by some other form of portrayal o£ his characters.
Another meeting is to be held at, the Rendezvous on Monday next, at 8 p.m. when all interested will be welcome.
