SUNDAY EXCURSION TRAINS
A resolution strongly condemning the running o£ Sunday excursion trains by the Government was passed by the Wellington District Methodist Synod- to-day The resolution declares that they are the cause of many men being compelled to work when they should be enjoying a rest They are always a cause of much Sabbath desecration; and the Synod is also of thr opinion that the Government should recoc-' nise the high purposes for which the Sabbath stands, and should not lend itself to the lowering ot .those high ideals, which are for the best interests of the nation
