Commencing at Saturday's matinee at 2 30 tho talking production, "Father and Son " which heads the bill at the Xew Quality combines the best elements of pathos and. romance, with a smattering of comedy as a relieving feature. Jack Holt, who takes the leading part, has associated with him Dorothy .lievier, Helene Chadwick,. Wheeler' Oakman, aud the child actor of the screen, Mickey H' B»nn;, *; rom,»>e. time when Frank Fields (Jack Holt) returns home from a trip to turope with his second wife, and introduces her to his'only son, complications set in. Jimmy Fields (Mickey M'Bann) refuses to accept his father's second wife 'as his new mother, and Ins father,, realising . this, strives desperately to conciliate the boy, but with no avail The boy is accused of a crime he did not commit He is punished by his father, and he leaves home. He does not get very far, however, as a friend takes him under her care, and decides that he will stay with her for a while The climax comes when the lad, on returning to his former home to collect a few private possessions, is accosted by his stepmother and severely reprimanded.
