CRASHES INTO WHARF

ADELAIDE, This Day. The motor ship Manunda, turning iii the Port River, apparently got out o£ control, snapped- the hawser connected to the tug, and crashed stern first into the Birkenhead Wharf. An auxiliary; ketch was crushed to matchwood and sank immediately. A huge gap was made in the wharf. Piles two feet mi diameter were snapped off. Two other ketch was crushed to matchwood and owners managed to scramble to safety. The damage to the wharf is estimated at £3000, and to the ketches at £2000, The Manunda's stern was badly dentect
