Reminders.

Until 9 o'clock to-night nominations will be taken for the "Wellington Racing Club's' Spring Meeting. Forfeits for the Wellesley Stakes are due at the same time. First acceptances for the New Zealand Cup, and entries for the Stewards', Metropolitan, Criterion, Jockey Club, Stonyhurst, Members', and Fendalton Handicaps, arid Canterbury Cup and Stead Gold Cup, close to-night at 8 o'clock with the secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Club. To-morrow at Randwick. \ Although the Auckland Spring Meeting will hold a vast amount of interest in the Dominion to-morrow, the fortunes of the New Zealand horses at Randwick will not be'overlooked by racing folk on this side of the Tasman. The A.J.C. card to- . morrow includes the Epsom Handicap, «ti.J.C. Derby, and Spring Stakes. Nightniarch is now being seriously discussed i'br the Epsom Handicap, and rivals Paquito, his countryman, for favouritism. The Victorian Gilt Edge and Adrian's March are also in strong demand. Gilt Edge, like J. Scobie's Derby candidate, Carradale, has not had a race for six months, but Scobie is a masterhand at producing a horse fit "first up," and Gilt Edge has been doing fine work at Randwick. Probably his brilliant gallop on Tuesday sent him up to the position of favourite, for his trainer is a man greatly respected. i As Limerick will not now take his place in the Spring Stakes field, first money looks almost a gift for Winalot. New Zealanders will be more interested in the Derby, which looks like providing a fine race. Phar Lap, who has done the racing, and done it well, is likely to start . favourite, but the Victorian colt Carradale, who is reported to have done just as well for Scobie before leaving Melbourne as Trivalve did for that trainer in his year, will have many friends. Honour, because the track-watchers consider lie has nbt had enough work at Randwick, has gone out of favour. Comanche is in demand on account of his fourth in the Ohelmsfqrd Stakes, when he carried a 71b penalty, and struck a good deal of trouble. Toper appears to have lost caste of late. Sydney critics are in favour of Phar Lap, Comanche, Carradale, and Honour, in that order, and predict a great race for tomorrow's £8000 prize. : There are New Zealanders engaged in the minor races to-morrow, the Hurdle Race, two miles, the Trial Handicap, one mile and a quarter, and the Kensington Handicap, seven furlongs.

About Pompeius,

Pompeius won the Pakuranga Hunt Cup Steeplechase so decisively that the Lucullus gelding will be* in prominent demand for the cross-country event at the Auckland Club's Meeting to-morrow, states the "Waikato Times." His pace and jumping ability on the occasion referred to last month were outstanding features. This member of A. P. Brady's team is in the order to give of his best again when he is to-reappear over practically the same circuit. R. Syme, who rode Pompeius to-his Paktiranga Meeting' success, will again pilot him. This pair were associated in a schooling effort over four of the big fences at Te Rapa on ! Thursday morning, when the display was of the pleasing order. Syme will also ride Waltzer to-morrow, and he will be on Horomea on Monday.

Palmerston North Riders.

Engagements of Palmerston Xorlh horsemen' at the Auckland and Xupier Park Meetings arc as under:—T. Mplcalf, .Amor, Bizarro. and Leader, and Diamond Queen (second day); C. W. France, Prince Val, Biddy's Boy, and Flying Prince; R. J. Mackie, Isa and Benzora; K. Voitre Piuthair.

Following the Ellerslie fixture Metcalf will go south to the Dunedin Meeting, where his.services have been engaged for the M*Lean and Trial Stakes. W. and C. Broughton will share the riding of G. W. New's candidates, Blimp, Sea Scout, and Princess Betty, at Napier Park, according to the weights. Arrowhead received a kick at Hawkes Bay,, and it is^ doubtful whether he will make the trip.
