BROKEN BYLAWS

Offenders against the bylaws were ■'dealt with in the Magistrate's Court yesterday by Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M. Parking in a prohibited area cost Charles H. Bustard, Kenneth 11. Duttou, and Arthur SigglekowlOs each, and Henry H. D. Bothamley, Rev. Howard Elliott, and Gerald J. Gibbs 5s each. For having no lights on their vehicles William Viggars and John W. Richards were fined £1 each,- and Bertie J. Childs, Montague C. Chambers, and Peter Thomson 5s each. , ■ ■ ■■ . Jack Russell and Erie M. Taylor were each fined £1 for having no driver's licence. For a similar offence Donald Henderson was fined 10s, and Frederick Moore ss. Fines of 10s on each of three charges of failing to obtain, a hire licence were imposed on Cyril T. West, who was also fined £1 for failing to obtain a heavy traffic licence. Reginald Austin, James Watkins, and Clarence Joslin were each ordered to pay the costs, 10s, on charges of plying for hire on an unauthorised stand. Fines of 5s each were imposed on Raymond H. Haines, for parking more than twelve inches from the kerb; Herbert Haines, who drove against the automatic stop signal at Courtenay place; Sydney Schuster and Charles Free, for allowing stock to wander; Alister Watt, who had no warning device on his motorcycle when stopped by Inspector Avery; and George Cochrane < for driving the wrong way in Dixon street.
