AUCKLAND, This Day. It was ah off morning at Ellerslie, although several of the late arrivals were sprinted on the No. 2 grass track, which was in good order. Havering ran five furlongs in Imin 7 l-ssec, doing it comfortably. Otairi and Atareria were allotted a six-furlongs task, which they ran in. Imin 19 l-ssec. The former pleased most. . False Scent cantered round to the three-furlongs post, and came home in 41 3-ssee. Star Stranger did strong work, which he completed by running the last halfmile in 52 3-osee. . • The Lamb pleased better than Ah Wera at the finish of a round in Imin 48 l-ssee. Tertigern and Talisker ran seven furlongs in Imin 31 l-ssec. Calithe 'did sis furlongs in Imin 21 1-osee. Star of the East was sent over a couple of hurdles, and cleared them in good style. Askari gave a satisfactory display over the steeplechase fences on the flat, which he jumped twice. Great Charter was out doing pacework on the sand track. He appeals to have got over his lameness. The latest arrivals include L. Knapp with Otairi and Atareria, H. I. Spinks with Ohinemuri and Billikins, E. ■ Edwards with Plying' Juliet and Indolent, W. Stone with Motere and Eoyal Euler, J. DufCey with Town Bambler. A. Cox with Ah Wera and The Lamb, W. M'Lean with Prince Lv, Soami, Te Kawana, and Lucess. - Askari has also been' brought up to E. Hatch, who owns him. He-will be a starter in the Onehunga Steeplechase on Monday.
