PENNANT CONDITIONS

OPENING DAYS

Further notifications have been received of club opening days. Those which, start off next , Saturday are Island Bay,;KhandaUah, Lower Hutt, and Upper Hutt. Lyall Bay has arranged its opening for 19th October, ofS'october! 4116" "" ***** V^

The senior pennant games arc to commence on 16th November, when (weather permitting) Uio following matches will be .played:—Wellington I (16): v. Thorndon (10) . Petono (G); Upper Hntt (4) T . Xhorndon (2) Petonc (2); Victoria (3 0) v. Mutt (4) (2) Eastbourne (2) Plinimerton (2); Central (10) v. Hutt (6), Woburn (2) Eastbourne- (2); Kelburn \±P V- Island Bay (8) Newtown (4); Ivhanaallah' (S) v. Island Bay (4) Jiewtowa (4); Hataitai (10) .v. Sea- /^ n S^ Lya!l Bay (4> Jolinsonvillo (2); Karori (10) v. Seatoun (4) Lyall Bay (4), • Johnsonville (2). The dates for the rest of the senior pennant matches are as follow: —Second round,. 30th November; third round, 14th December; fourth rouna Ist February; fifth round, loth February. The Ist and loth of March have been reserved for postponed matches. CONDITIONS OF PLAY. This season's conditions for thesenior pennants are as foliow:— (1) The competing clubs to be drawn, into groups of 20 rinks each, and each group to play five rounds. (2) The club which has the highest percentage of rink wins at the conclusion of the competition to be awarded the senior pennant, a drawn game to count half a win. (3) In the event of a tie at .the end of the; last rouna t it shall be played off in such manner as the centre may, .in the. circumstances, decide. (4) Half the rinks engaged ■will play at home and-half away, except in the case of clubs entering four rinks or two rinks only, -when all the rinks may play at homo or away by mutual consent. (5) In the event of any round or'rounds b'eiug" postponed on account of the weather, or for any other reason, they shall be played on the dates assigned for that purpose. Should any matches'be started and not completed on account of the;weather or for any other reason/ they'shall be completed, or replayed'as the, centre may decide on a date,fixed for that purpose; but any matches completed where notification of cessation of; play has not been received, shali stand. (6) Should any club fail to provide the required number of rinks in any round or rounds, a win by default as far as it concerns the defaulting rink or rinks will be recorded to the opposing club, proyided, it has its. required number of rinks ready and available to play. Should both clubs fail to provide the required number, a loss by default will be recorded against both as far as it concerns the defaulting rink or rinks. (7) The result of oach round must be sent by the' club'secretary to the hon. secretary of the centre by tho Tuesday following th date of the fixture. Any club failing, to do so maybe disqualified for the round.

Tho junior pennants will also comnioncc on 10th November. The other dates are 30th November, 14th December, Ist and 15th ' February, Ist and loth March. Tho junior pennants will bo played in; A and B sections. _ A mid-week two-rink competition has been provided, to bo played each Wednesday afternoon, commencing not later than 2.30. These games will commence on 30th October, and will be continued every. Wednesday, with tho exception of a break between ISth December and Bth January.

Tho usual annual centre tournament will commence on Boxing Day (which falls on a Thursday).
