MOTOR TRADE
ANNUAL CONFERENCE
(By Telecraph.—Preßs Association.)
PALMERSTON N., This Day. The twelfth annual conference of the New Zealand Motor Trade Association, in conjunction with the New Zealand Wholesale Motor; and Cycle Traders' Association, Ltd., opened here this morning. Mr. Baucbop, Wellington, addressing tho conference, referred to Palmerston North as the birthplace of the association. There was concern about the future, in that it was not known what legislation would be brought forward by the Government. The introduction of the Transport Bill was awaited with eagerness. Fair representation should be given on • the Transport Advisory Committee. A feeling to be deprecated was that sometimes noticed between motorists and pedestrians. It was an old idea, but it persisted.
The Mayor accorded the gathering a civic reception. ■ ■ -
