A BOOK TO LOVE.

"The.story I said I was reading is not very ghostly, but at the end it turns out to be the girl and her brother. The girl saw her brother and thought it ■was the ghost, and the next night the boy saw his sister and thought she was the ghost. I have read a story called 'Moving Day.' It is about a family of people, and the children's names were Tick, Tack, and Toek, the boys, and Trixio the girl. Ono night they saw in : the paper that there was a house to let on a hill. They said they would like to live in it. Mr. Pendulum told the boys to go and harness Neddy to the cart. Neddy was a donkey. When they had done that they helped to carry down the furniture. Trixio carried the bedclothes, and put them in the cart. Then they all got in. When they came to the bottom of the hill they saw a number of steps to go up to get to the house. Mrs. Pendulum lead the way up, then Trixie, and then the boys and Mr. Pendulum. They each had a piece pf furniture to carry. When they came to the house Trixie said, 'It does not look safe.' It was propped up by a post. Mr. Pendulum said, 'It is as safe as houses.' When they got inside they found there was only one room. They got the furniture in, and there was not very much room. Then the boys said, 'Let's all jump together and sco if the house moves.' They all thought that a good idea. Mr. Pendulum said, 'Go.' and they all jumped. Then all of a sudden the houso moved,.and thoy all got bumped about except Tack, who was fired into the fireplace. When the house stopped they found themselves in their own garden. Tho man who owned tho house said they could hayo the liouse. They lived in their own houso, and made the little one a rabbit-hutch." BEVEELY BLACK. ! Karori. i
