Cochet beat Hennessey, 8-1, 6-4, 9-7. Borotra beat Allison (America), 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 8-3. Landry beat' Gregory, 8-6, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. In the third round of the ladies'! singles, Miss Tapscoft beat Madame ilathieu. In the fourth round, Mrs. M'llqubam beat Senorita d'Alvarez, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Miss Helen Jacobs (America) beat Miss Joan Pry, 6-3, 6-4. Mrs. Bundy beat Miss Eileen Bennett, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. In the first round of the mixe.d doubles, Brugnon and Madame Mathieu beat Lycett and Mrs. Lycett, 9-7, 7-5. Cocbet and Miss Bennett beat Prenn and Fraulein Aussem, 6-1, 7-5. In the second round of the men's doubles,. Kozeluh and Andrews beat Timmer and Coen, 7-5, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Tilden and Hunter beat Turnbull arid Gilbert, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. •
Andrews and Kozeluh had a meritdrious win against a hard-hitting pair, both of whom were exceptionally effective overhead.
