SWEATED LABOUR
EXCEPTION TAKEN TO STATEMENT (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") CHBISTOHUHCH, This Day A decisxon to purchase locally made bating costumes for use at tho Tepid 'Baths was made by .the City Council last night after tho Baths Committee hau reported that a local firm, which had previously tendered, had submitted another quote- considerably lower than tho nrst price. Tho Baths Committee also reported having received a letter from tho British Trade Commissioner taking exception to the remark previously made regarding the use of sweated labour in England, and stating that tliu British Government had for years been engaged in stomping out the practico of sweating. The committee had replied thanking the Commissioner for the i letter and explaining the- circumstances ! under which the remark had been made.
