BERLIN, Ist May. The May Day situation is developing rapidly and becoming menacing. Ther» has been heavy rioting in the heart of the city and working alass suburbs. The rioters stopped motor-cars and ejected passengers. The police were heavily stoned, and opened fire on the rioters. Increasing difficulty was experienced in dispersing the crowds, and many people were injured. Two hundred arrests were made. Nobody is allowed within a mile of the Wilhelmstrasse, which is strongly guarded. During Communist and police conflicts two policemen were murdered.
