CHOCOLATE WORKS

SITE YET TO BE CHOSEN

Mr. G. Sara, New Zealand manager of Messrs. Cadbury and Fry (N.Z.), Ltd., has returned to Wellington from a visit to the Old Country.

Interviewed by a "Post" reporter today, Mi 1. Sara stated that Ms .firm is about to establish a factory i"or the manufacture in this country of its wellknown brands of chocolates. A modern factory is to be erected and experts in the making of chocolate- will be coming out from Homo at an early date.

Mr. Sara stated that the site for the factory has not yat been acquired; indeed it has still to be decided in what district the factory shall be built. The important question of transportation facilities by road, rail, and steamer, and a number of other points have to be very carefully considered-, before the best location for the new plant can bo determined.

Asked what he thought of the industrial position in Great Britain, Mr. Sara said that on the whole the state of affairs was a good deal better than ho had anticipated. Except in regard to coal and cotton, trade was distinctly improving, and manufacturers were moro alive to tho opportunities open to them, especially with regard to interEmpire trade. As to unemployment, lie thought that the difficulties of the position had boon exaggerated. There was not, after all, n largo percentage of able-bodied peoplo out of work, if duo allowance was made for tho unemployable—those who could not, and thoso who would not work.
