MBLBOUBNE, This Day
Several buildings were rocked by an explosion which severely damaged a house in Prahran which had been untenanted for a week. It is believed that the explosion was caused by a mixture of petrol and gas fumes following a fire which, it is thought* was deliberately started. 1 Two men were seen leaving the premises immediately the explosion occurred. The house was fully insured. The gas meter was tampered with to allow of a free flow of gas.
