EMPIRE SETTLEMENT
ACHIEVEMENTS UNDER ACT

RUGBY, 28th March,
Speaking at Nottingham last night on Empire settlement, Mr. Leopold Amery, Secretary for the Dominions, said that under the various schemes over throe hundred thousand persons had been assisted to go to the Dominions since the Empire Settlement Act was passed in 1922. In tho last four years the figure was 215,000, exclusive of 170,000 who had gone out unassisted.
During the 1921) season the Caaudiuu Government has undertaken to place in guaranteed farm employment in Canada (3000 single men who have been trained in agricultural work at tho Ministry of Labour's (raining centres in this country.
