REGENT THEATRE.
To-night "Tho World's Entertainers" will liommenco performing at tho Kogent Theatre, having come direct from the Tlvull Theatres at Melbuurnc and Sydney. "Tho World's Entertainers," who are touring tho globe—they have already covered 200,000 miles—are popular wherever they appear, and in other parts of this Dominion where they have shown they have been welcomed by thousands of enthusiastic patrons. Evelyn May, dainty performer, provides an artistic exhibition of national dancing. Manclli and Mack tako part In an act of juggling that is? simply bewildering in its performance. The former,' a Continental juggler, is said to bo the only pupil the great Citiquevalli ever took under his charge, and is acclaimed by many authorities as the successor of that great artist. Tho ease with which he manipulates eight or ten hoops at once, or balances a lighted lamp on a table which in turn is balanced on a billiard cue, resting on liii chin, makes one hold one's breath with amazement. .lean M'Donald gives a charming performance with her dolls. The last act Is the bigger and tho most astounding. It is provided by llarmston's performing cockatoos, Borneo eorellas, African greys, and Queensland gallahs— all of which arc almost human in their intelligence and capabilities. One bird plays "Home, Sweet Homo" on the chimes. Another answers any question from tho audience, such as a required number on a bell, telling time from a watch, or working small sums. "Love Overnight" (there is also a full picture programme), which features tile famous Rod La Kucquo, who is said to be the most fascinating actor on the screen, is a most amusing comedy which concerns the laughable doings of a subway moue.vchanger. Owing to the peculiar complications which suddenly arise in the life of tho money-changer, ho is forced to kidnap a most beautiful girl while she is on tho altar about to bo married. After a series of hilarious situations tho girl finally falls desperately in love ,wilh the man who Iddnapped her, despite the frantic efforts of tho one she was to have married lo win her back. This picture, which is said to bo one of the funniest yet produced in England, has an all-star cast. It is full of excitement from beginning *to end, and lias some screamingly funny sub-titles.
