POOR DEMAND FOR PIGS.

This season has been no exception to the general rule in the Waikato district, that as the end of the milking season approaches the demand for pigs rapidly decreases. With the high prices ruling for all descriptions' of grain foods, directly the milk supply fails, fanners are anxious to got rid of their pigs, and would sooner sell at almost any price • than keep over the winter, until milk comes in again. There was a large entry of pigs at Morrinsville, at tlie end of last week. For pigs n't to kill there were some buyers, but for weaners and small sorts there was no demand, and owners, to avoid taking their pigs homo again, accepted low prices. No one wanted breeding sows or weaners, and owners were • fortunate if they got 20s for the former and 2s Gd for the latter.
