The last engagement of the English! cricketers started to-day in ideal weather with a match against West Australia, whose team included Eyder, Australia's Test captain, and Grimmett, Darling, and Ellis, of the Eastern States, who wore invited to play against England, as West Australia has only a bare, eleven available. The attendance was five thousand.
West Australia won the toss. The Englishmen showed tho effects of their tour and long journey. They evidently were tired, and the fielding was not brilliant, with the exception of that of Duckworth behind the wickets. Ryder lasted 52 minutes 1 for _ 24, whea he was out- leg before. Richardson, one of Australia's leading players, nowcoaching West Australian ■ players, batted most of tho afternoon with tho local captain, Bowe. The bowling was frequently changed. A feature of tho game was tho spirited batting of the colts. When stumps wero drawn, five wickets were down for 269. The following are tho scores:— WEST AUSTRALIA. First Innings.
