PLIMMERTON'S NEEDS

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—As a snore or less regular visitor to Plimmerton for the past 20 years, I was much interested in the article by "Progress" in your issue of last Saturday. There is not the slightest doubt that the primary and urgent need of that delightful seaside resort is the bridge as advocated by "Progress." It would make Plimmerton at once a suburb of Wellington, and as such it would enter upon an era of prosperity undreamed of perhaps by the local residents. In developing a district, means of communication is of first importance. Other covenienccs, as "Prcress" points out, will follow, but that must come first. It therefore behoves all who have the welfare of Plimmerton at heart to sink all differences and unite to carry through the bridge scheme, for until the bridge is an accomplished fact Plimmerton will remam where it has been for the past 20 years and comparatively unknown —I am etc., ' CIIAS. S. PEARSON. Otaliubu, 21at March.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—lt was with great satisfaction and pleasure that I read the article and the two letters appearing in the "Evening Post' regarding Plimmerton. The thanks of not only the residents but of the countJess numbers who have an affection for this popular health and pleasure resort are due to the writers. In drawing attention through your widely read paper to the outstanding need for the future development ot Plimmerton they have rendered a good and valuable service to all who are interested in its progress. I realise that a bridge cannot be built to suit the growing needs of the district out of letters you may receive on this subject. Some definite and determined action should be taken by our representatives; they may be assured of the cordial support of the public. The obvious need for a bridge, together with the will to get it, will I feel certain, see our object attained in the near future. —I am, etc., PUSH ONWARDS. 22nd March.
