WILKINS' IN NEW YORK
RESULTS OF EXPEDITION [
Australian fresi Association. . (Received 13th March, 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, 12th March, Sir Georgo Wilkins arrived aboard the liner Ebro and was greeted by his , fiancee, Miss Suzanne Bennett. Sir George was filled with enthusiasm over his recent trip, and declared that his recent air voyage over the Antaretio was merely a preliminary, the most im« portant results of . which wore tha mapping of a new coastline for part of the Antarctic Continent; also the die« covery that Graham Land is not part of tho continent, but an island; also tha location of a spot for an Antarctic meteorological baso.
Sir George Wilkins was later escorted by a squad of motor-cycle polico to thai City Hall, where ho was officially welcomed to the city by Mayor Walker. A' silent but admiring crowd ' witnessed, the ceremony, after which Wilkins and his companions proceeded about their private affairs.
