FAIR TO FINE WEATHER
COOL NIGHT TEMPERATURES
The most extensive anti-cyclone and high-pressure system experienced for some considerable time now dominates the meteorological situation. It reaches from beyond Chatham Islands over New Zealand and the Tasman Sea to Australia. Pressure has riien further in Now Zealand, the highest barometer reading at, 9 a.m. to-day\ being 30.40 in at Queenstown. The weather has been generally fair ana cloudy, with rather cool temperatures, and a few isolated showers have been reportod, more especially on the East Coast. During yesterday there was a tendency for north-westerly winds in the neighbourhood of Cook Strait, but by'this morning, winds, though southerly over most of the Dominion, were moderate generally, but fresh at places in the Cook Strait area and "between East Cape and Akaroa.'
The forecast is for moderate southerly winds and a continuance of fair to fino weather generally, with cool night, but warmer day temperatures.
