HAMILTON, This Day. A proposal • to, raise a Joan of. £40,b'70 for water supply extensions, including an additional pumping station, increased "reservoir 'capacity,';.,and improved filters, was carried-by the ratepayers of Hamilton by 707 votes against 572. The scheme had beeu recommended by the Loans Board in preference ito- asmaller scheme to cost about £15)000,' but was opposed by many on tho ground of heavy expense.
