TWO STEAMERS LOST

VANCOUVER, 12th February. Tho fierce gale caused the loss of two freighters. The steamer Alloway waß being towed from the Aleutian Islands, where Bhe was disabled. The towline broke and the ship was abandoned. It is believed tho romnant.B of her crew escaped.
Tho Japanese* vessel Meiyo Maru, lumber-ladon, was driven ashore at Aiktak Island, and is a total loss. The crew are believed to bo safe.
