NATIONAL DEBT AND INTEREST

In tho House of Commons to-day Mr. Churchill, Chancollor of the Exchequer, stated that the;total amount of tho National Debt on 31st December last was . £7,738,000,000, and tho charge for interest and management in tho financial year ended 31st March, 1928, was £313,000,000. Divided by the number of tho population these figures became £170 and £7 per head respectively.
