JOY NIGHT.
The committee rcsponsiblo for the joy night which is to be held in tho main Town Hall noxt Saturday night under tho auspices of tho Wellington Rowing Regatta Club has been very energetic In pushing the sale of tickets, and It is already certain that there will be as good an attendance as wa3 tho case last year. Thero will bo even more visiting oarsmen present this year than was tho case last year, for the regatta, which Is being held on Saturday, covers a wider range of classes than did tho "eights," with a consequently larger number of representatives from the many clubs throughout New Zealand. In view of the number of visitors to bo entertained, the committee will particularly welcome ladles who are able to come without partners. The evening will servo other purposes than those of entertainment only, for during an Interval between dances tho Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troiip) will present the Pearco and Bridson Challenge Cups, and Mr. White will announco; the names of thoso to represent Wellington Province in the champion eights. Those who are Interested from the point of view of dancing only will be well attended to, for with Hyman's Premier Dance Orchestra and the catering in the same hands as last year, they are assured of a pleasant evening.
